Successful Job Searches

Don't quit. In order to pursue a new career position you must carefully strategize and identify every move that will lead to a successful job search. To get your foot in the door, you are going to have to research various industries, find the companies you want to work for, and then target the key decision makers. If you want to impress them with your carefully constructed case, then you have to show them that you are the best possible answer to problems and opportunities they never knew they had.

That is correct! Two people sitting down to discuss the problems and possible solution that may be challenging an organization have led to many fabulous career opportunities. Individuals who start out from scratch are the ones who end up with positions on the job that are custom created.

You must keep trying. You need to stay on top of things and follow up and follow up again. Come up with new ideas that you didn't have an opportunity to bring up with them before. Describe for them your ideas on how you can improve their organization. If you want to get a new career challenge and reap some rewards for the organization, you have to negotiate, catch their eye, and guide their opinion.

So frequently I speak to those who have fears of "pestering" their career target. Don't use a confrontational approach. Make an offer to help and contribute ideas beneficial to the success of the organization. To know that you are being heard you should keep writing, emailing, and phoning to get your message out there.
